Born from Passion,
Raised on Flavor
Chuys — beloved by locals as chuy's — began in 1982 as a small family kitchen on Westheimer Road in Houston, TX. What started as a humble spot serving handmade tortillas and slow-simmered salsas quickly grew into a beloved Houston landmark. Our founders believed that great Mexican food starts with honest ingredients, generational recipes, and a whole lot of love.
Over three decades later, the chuys experience remains as vibrant as ever. Every dish on our menu honors the flavors of the regions of Mexico — from the smoky moles of Oaxaca to the bright citrus-forward salsas of the Yucatan. We've grown our team, expanded our menu, and welcomed hundreds of thousands of guests, but our soul has never changed.
Today, Chuys at 2706 Westheimer Rd is a community gathering place — a spot where families celebrate milestones, friends share margaritas, and everyone is welcomed like family. We're proud of where we came from, and excited about every dish we serve.

The First Kitchen
Chuy's opens its doors on Westheimer Road, Houston. A tiny kitchen with big dreams — serving handmade enchiladas and fresh tortillas to the neighborhood.
Houston's Favorite
After seven years of word-of-mouth love, Chuys earns its first Houston Press award for Best Mexican Restaurant. The chuys name becomes a local institution.
Expansion & New Menu
We expand our dining room and launch our iconic full margarita bar. New regional Mexican dishes are added, inspired by chef travels throughout Oaxaca and Jalisco.
Catering & Events
Chuys launches its full-service catering operation, bringing authentic chuy's flavors to weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations across Houston.
Online Ordering
We introduce online ordering and delivery, making it easier than ever for Houstonians to enjoy Chuys at home. Our delivery zone expands to cover the Greater Houston area.
